Bicester, since day 1, has been my favourite outlet to visit and shop out of all I have been in England. There’s something about the elegant house style shops and boutiques, the way the items are displayed in the shops, the chic mobile café and hot chocolate vans and even the restrooms have an extreme expensive feel that makes you feel so extravagant and fancy.

Now, if you ever visited Bicester Village, you know that is basically impossible to spend less than 3 hours there. Unless you don’t like shopping and pretty places, chances are if you are in no rush, you will spend a few hours there. This also means food. Even if you’re not hungry, you’ll want to eat, believe me. The smell of delicious food is in the air as you pass by the restaurants and cafés, you can find hot chocolates, crepes, sushi, organic food, cakes and pastries and even cupcakes in gold paper. But if you’re vegan or eat vegan food, you will know that you can’t just go and expect to have a vegan restaurant or a huge variety in a place that is full of shops with leather pieces right? So I decided to do this guide to help people like me! Even if you go to Prada, Gucci, Saint Laurent and know that mostly likely you won’t want to buy anything (but hey there’s a Stella McCartney!), so without further do let’s get to the vegan food!

Secret Garden Café

Secret Garden Café is a beautiful very instagrammable place I must say! I liked it because they have displayed very clearly what is vegetarian, vegan and gluten free, for vegan food look out for VG. The café is located right in front of Polo Ralph Lauren store and has plenty of sitting area outdoors and indoors. If you are around there and don’t want to walk around looking for food here are the options you can find:

Butternut Squash and Spinach Wrap – £4.55

Superfood Salad – £6.50

Kids Menu (Also can be Snack)

Hummus pot with vegetable sticks – £2.50

*You can ask if they have soup of the day and main course suitable for vegans too! The day I went they had soup and vegetable curry that were both vegan.

Le Pain Quotidien

I was very pleased to see this restaurant had a wide variety of vegan food in the menu! From cakes to ready meals to hot meals, with focus to organic food, gluten free food and recycling. Unfortunately I must say it is,  in my opinion, overpriced for the taste (or maybe was just the day I went?). If you ever been in this restaurant and the food was good, let me know in the comments!

All their vegan options are marked with a small orange carrot.

Organic Baker’s Basket – £7.45

A selection of organic breads to share, with organic jams and traditional Belgian organic spreads.

The Vegan Botanist – £16.95

Includes: Quinoa Taboulé, Guacamole, Hummus, Roasted Carrot Hummus, Mini Raspberry Crunola Parfait, Fresh Fruit Salad, Selection of Organic Bread, Hazelnut Flûte, Fresh Orange Juice and Regular Hot Beverage of you choice.

Hummus Menage à Trois – £11.90

Includes: Roasted Carrot, Beetroot and Chickpea Hummus with Vegetable Crudités.

Hot Dishes

Vegan Ragu w/ organic spelt pasta & fresh basil – £14.95

Avocado Toast – £8.15
Includes: Mashed avocado, super seeds, citrus cumin salt, lemon juice and olive oil.

Organic Hummus – £4.45
Mixed Olives – £3.65
Avocado – £2.45
Roasted Vegetables – £4.25
Seasonal Salad – £3.95
Roasted Potatoes – £4.25

Coconut Milk Vanilla Pudding & Organic Chia Seeds – £4.30

Organic Blueberry Muffin – £3.30

Luckily, Bicester still has some chain restaurant options and Itsu is one of them. This means that you’ll be able to recognise foods you might have where you live and don’t have to risk having a not so nice lunch somewhere else because you don’t know the place.
